Peter Edwards, CPA, CA, CBV
Partner
Peter joined the firm in 2005 and became a partner in January 2015. Peter’s practice includes a full range of accounting, assurance, tax and advisory services including tax compliance and planning, financial forecasting, valuations and other business consulting services. When not in the office, Peter can be found hiking, skiing, sailing, travelling the world, or relaxing in PEI.
Nola Lamoureux Spierenburg, B.Sc, MBA, CPA, CGA
Partner
Nola joined the firm in 2011 and became a partner in 2021. Nola is highly involved in the IT aspects of the firm and is certified in several accounting packages. In addition to offering accounting, tax and advisory services, she offers a variety of training. Nola is a self-professed geek and served on the board of a local sci-fi convention for several years.
Amanda Avery, CPA, CA
PARTNER
Amanda began her career in public practice in 2012 and joined the team at HBA in 2020. Amanda became partner in 2024. Amanda’s focus is on assurance services, accounting standards and business advisory. She has taught at Dal AC, CPA NS and often teaches internal training sessions for the AC Group of Firms. Amanda is the Treasurer for the Better Business Bureau – Atlantic Chapter. When not working with her clients, Amanda can be found hiking in the woods with her dogs, on horseback or on the rugby pitch.
Boyd Hunter, CPA, CA, CFP
Partner
Boyd worked for a national CA firm in Edmonton, Calgary, and Halifax from 1977-1991. He has grown and managed the firm since 1991. He has a wealth of experience with a variety of businesses providing business advice as well as accounting, tax, estate and financial planning services. Boyd focuses on tax, estate and financial planning for owner managers. Boyd is actively involved in the community.
Rosemary Belgrave, CPA, CA
Partner
Rosemary has been a partner at the firm since 1993. She has lectured at both MSVU and the Technical University of Nova Scotia. For over 20 years, she has participated in the professional standards review process for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia. Rosemary focuses on financial statement preparation, accounting services, and personal income tax planning and preparation.
Tracy Adamson, CPA, CA
Partner
Tracy has many years of accounting, audit and tax experience in both the public and private sectors. She joined the firm in 1999. Tracy has completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course (Parts I and II). She has lectured at the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy and at MSVU. Tracy has received many academic awards including the CICA Bronze Medal for earning the third highest mark on the UFE written by over 2,000 CA candidates.

Ashley graduated from NSCC in 2018 and thinks Halloween should be celebrated every single day.
Bryan Kidd, CPA
Manager
Bryan has been working in public practice since 2019, and became a CPA in 2021. He loves spending time in nature, particularly hiking and relaxing at the beach.
Julie Hoskins
Assurance Manager
Julie joined HBA in 2013 as an accounting technician and became a CPA in 2024. She enjoys spending time with her family and has recently discovered a love for gardening.

Brent is a former Geologist turned accounting tech. He loves summer adventures and watching reality TV shows.

Carole has over 30 years of customer service experience. Outside of work, she’s always on the lookout for the next perfect pair to add to her shoe collection.

Janine is a self-proclaimed admin to the stars with a strong background in client services. She loves reading, country music, exploring cute little bakeries & Family time.

Riva graduated from MSVU in 2023. She loves matcha, cats, and collecting carnivorous plants. She’s also excited to dive more into freediving.

Youngun graduated from Dalhousie in 2021. He almost let the snow chase him out of Halifax, but recent milder winters and a great job kept him here. He’s also a big soccer fan.
